Additional Resources
Luckily there are a number of local and regional programs on fire risk management that we can rely on for support. The City of Asheville Fire Department coordinates closely with US Forest Service, the NC Forest Service, and the National Park Service (think Blue Ridge Parkway lands) to track changes in seasonal fire risk and communicate with local residents on when fire risks are elevated and we should initiate our personal plans for action.
We courage everyone to sign up for the AVL Alert service to receive timely communications on local emergencies.
