SCHEDULED FOR JULY 23, 5 pm

Community negotiations have led to the development option that will be before City Council on July 23. On this day Council members will vote on the proposed rezoning for the property at 767 New Haw Creek Road. The rezoning will allow the "Meadows at Haw Creek" to proceed if approved.

This City Council meeting will be a critical moment of this months-long campaign. Your presence is vital and will help demonstrate the depth of concern Haw Creek residents feel. As you did on March 20 when 400 Haw Creek residents attended the Planning & Zoning hearing, we need you there for this City Council vote!

This meeting will also be held at Harrah’s Cherokee Center Banquet Hall, 87 Haywood Road, beginning at 5:00 pm.  Free parking will be available in the Harrah’s Cherokee Center garage for those attending the meeting. The garage entrance is located at 68 Rankin Ave.

Parking procedure:

  1. Pull a ticket from the kiosk when entering the garage. Take the garage ticket into the meeting with you.
  2. Obtain a barcode. Please ask the person at the public comment sign-in desk for a free parking barcode (sticker) upon either entering or departing the meeting.
  3. Place the barcode sticker on the back of the parking garage ticket. (You do not have to be participating in public comment to obtain a barcode.)
  4. Exiting the garage without charge. At the departure kiosk, first, scan the standard parking ticket barcode located on the front of the ticket. Then scan the sticker barcode you received at the Council meeting sign-in desk (the sticker you placed on the back of your ticket). The “second scan” will process at the kiosk and allow you to depart without charge.

This meeting is open to public comment with the below limitations.

  • APPLICANTS HAVE UP TO TEN MINUTES TO COMPLETE A PRESENTATION.
