You are cordially invited to join us for a potluck dinner on Sunday evening, April 27, at Groce United Methodist Church. This event is inspired by the sense of community that many of us experienced in the aftermath of Helene. We gathered to share supplies and food and stories, and in the process sometimes came to know our neighbors better than we had previously. However, once our power and water came back online that feeling inevitably faded.
As we recovered from the storm many of us experienced the recovery hub at Groce UMC. They provided an invaluable resource and a great connection point. To keep that spark of community alive the Church has offered to host the first-ever Haw Creek Community Association potluck.
Every resident of Haw Creek is invited to join us for this free community dinner. Doors will open at 5:30 pm and dinner will begin at 6:00 pm. Please bring a dish to share; water and tea will be provided by HCCA. We will not be keeping track of who is bringing what food, but please RSVP with the number of people you will be bringing so we will have some idea of how many plates and cups we will need to provide.
We look forward to this evening of sharing.
