Plan to attend this free workshop co-hosted by EcoForesters and HCCA on Saturday, May 30, at Charlie Bullman Park. Learn how you can make your home more resilient to wildfire and how controlling non-native invasive species will help native plants thrive in our community.
The first part of the workshop will be hearing from the EcoForesters team and Doug Baughman, HCCA board member and lead on our Firewise Program. The rest of the morning will be spent taking action, using the park to find examples of non-native invasive plants.
Please register on the EcoForesters website at ecoforesters.org/outreach-events as they will be handling the registration for this event.
Participants will have an opportunity to sign up for work days, have an assessment done on their property, or identify landowners that need assistance.
This workshop is the next step in our efforts to move forward with the Firewise USA certification process. Our goal is for Haw Creek to achieve official recognition as a Firewise USA community, helping us strengthen wildfire preparedness, improve community safety, and protect our homes and natural surroundings.
We encourage everyone to participate in this workshop and learn more about the steps we can take together to support this important initiative.
