Evergreen Community Charter School and the Haw Creek Community Association are hosting a forum for Asheville City Council candidates on Tuesday, September 29 at 7:00 pm. Evergreen Middle School students will lead the forum with council candidates on the stage in front of a live audience. The event will be live streamed on the school’s Facebook page and the recording posted on Evergreen’s YouTube channel.
This unique forum will feature questions developed and asked by Evergreen Community Charter School's 7th and 8th grade students. Students will research local issues, gather input from community members, and create questions that reflect the concerns and priorities of local residents. Audience members will also have the opportunity to submit questions for the candidates.
Three seats are up for election on November 3, 2026. The candidates running include:
Recognizing that it may be hard for residents with young children to come to an event like this, we will be offering free childcare.
